Salacious Players Club Series Review: Why Sara Cate’s Spicy Romance Books Are My Latest Obsession

 If you’re looking for a spicy romance series that delivers both heat and heart, let me introduce you to my latest reading obsession: the Salacious Players Club Series by Sara Cate.

A coworker recently recommended the first book, Praise, and let’s just say… that recommendation immediately sent me down a reading rabbit hole. I’m now two books into the series and already adding the rest to my reading list.

If you enjoy spicy romance with strong characters, interconnected storylines, and a little forbidden intrigue, this series absolutely delivers.

📚 What the Salacious Players Club Series Is About

The series centers around a group of friends who open an exclusive private club. That premise alone tells you what you’re in for: high heat, bold characters, and plenty of drama.

But what surprised me most is that these books are not just about spice. Sara Cate does a great job building interesting characters and relationships, so you actually care about the couples as their stories unfold.

And if you’re anything like me, one of the most fun parts of a series like this is seeing familiar characters reappear and storylines overlap from book to book.

🌶 Book 1: Praise

The first book, Praise, follows Emerson and Charlie.



Emerson runs the club and has a very particular dynamic with the women he spends time with. Charlie unexpectedly discovers that she enjoys being praised and encouraged in ways she never expected.

Their chemistry is immediate, but there’s an added twist that makes things even more complicated: Emerson happens to be Charlie’s ex-boyfriend’s father.

Yes. The tension is exactly what you think it is.

If you like forbidden romance with strong character growth and plenty of tension, this one is a fun start to the series.

👀 Book 2: Eyes on Me

The second book I picked up was Eyes on Me.



This story follows Garrett and Mia.

Garrett has lived as a voyeur for years without acting on his desires, while Mia runs a successful cam business and is completely comfortable being seen. Their worlds collide in a way that feels both unexpected and inevitable.

Like the first book, the story is packed with chemistry but also continues expanding the friend group and the world of the club, which is what makes the series so fun to keep reading.

And of course, we continue seeing characters like the fabulous Eden pop up throughout the stories.

📖 A Fun Discovery About the Author

While reading these, I had a funny realization.

Sara Cate is also the author of Gravity, a book my work bestie gifted me for Christmas. When we opened gifts, he was very proud of the fact that he had found me a smutty romance book that was part of a series so I could keep going if I liked it.

Work besties who enable your reading habit are truly the best.



Gravity is still in my to-be-read pile, but now that I’m loving Sara Cate’s writing style, it just moved way up my reading list.
