I bought my first UnHide blanket roughly five years ago, and it has been my everyday couch blanket ever since. What began with one blanket has grown into a collection of blankets, pillows, and dog beds that my household genuinely uses.
After years of daily use and washing my blankets about every two weeks, I can confidently say the softness is not temporary. Mine still feel just as soft today as they did when they were new.
Exactly Which UnHide Products I Own
- Two Large Marshmallow blankets
- One Cuddle Puddle
- Three standard square Squish pillows
- Two lumbar Squish pillows
- One Squish Backrest
- One Medium and two Large Floof dog beds
- One Schleepy robe
My Five-Year Experience With the Marshmallow Blanket
My oldest Marshmallow is about five years old and remains my daily couch blanket. I now own two in the Large size. The Large gives me enough room to curl up comfortably without constantly repositioning the blanket.
What I love most is the combination of softness and weight. It feels substantial and comforting without being a traditional weighted blanket. Of everything I own from UnHide, the Marshmallow is the product I would recommend first to someone curious about the brand.
Does an UnHide Blanket Stay Soft After Washing?
In my experience, yes. I wash my everyday blanket roughly every two weeks in cold water and dry it on low heat. I use the same routine for all of my UnHide blankets and avoid high heat.
Even after approximately five years of regular use and frequent washing, my oldest blanket is still as soft as the day I got it. I have not experienced the dramatic decline in texture that can happen with some faux-fur blankets.
How I Use the Cuddle Puddle on a King-Size Bed
I have used the Cuddle Puddle on my king-size bed for the last three years as an extra layer on top of my duvet. It brings the plush feeling I love about the Marshmallow to the bed in a much larger size.
If you want an UnHide primarily for the couch, I would choose the Marshmallow. If you want an oversized layer for a king-size bed, the Cuddle Puddle is the better fit.
My Honest Opinion of the Three Squish Pillow Styles
I own all three styles: three standard square pillows, two lumbar pillows, and one Backrest. The covers have the same wonderfully soft feel as the blankets, but there is an important difference between the inserts.
The original inserts in my standard and lumbar pillows felt thin to me. I replaced them with fluffier pillow inserts from Amazon and put those inside the UnHide covers. That simple change made the pillows much fuller and more comfortable while letting me keep the covers I loved.
The Backrest did not have this issue. Its original insert is fluffy and plush, and I have not needed to replace it.
This is my main caveat for shoppers: the standard and lumbar covers are lovely, but you may want a fuller replacement insert if you prefer a plump, supportive pillow.
Our Experience With the Floof Dog Beds
I own one Medium Floof and two Large Floof dog beds. Walt and Lilly are fully obsessed with them. They will sometimes curl up together in one of the Large beds, even though we have several Floofs available.
If you have more than one pet that likes to cuddle, or one dog that enjoys extra room, I would consider the Large. The Medium works well when you want a more compact bed or another cozy spot in a different room.
What I Love Most
The softness and comforting weight are what keep me reaching for these products. The blankets feel more substantial than a basic throw, and my collection has held up extremely well through everyday life with two dogs.
The fact that my oldest blanket is still used daily after roughly five years—and that I have repeatedly spent my own money on more UnHide products—is ultimately why I continue recommending the brand.
Is There Anything I Don’t Like?
I genuinely cannot think of anything I dislike about the blankets themselves. They have remained soft, they wash well, and I enjoy their weight.
My only criticism is that the original inserts in the standard and lumbar Squish pillows were thinner than I preferred. Replacing those inserts solved the problem. The Backrest arrived fluffy and did not need the same adjustment.
Which UnHide Product Should You Buy?
- For an everyday couch blanket: Choose the Large Marshmallow.
- For a king-size bed: Choose the Cuddle Puddle as an oversized top layer.
- For supportive lounging: Choose the Squish Backrest.
- For decorative pillows: The standard and lumbar Squish covers are very soft, but consider a fuller insert.
- For pets or two dogs that cuddle: Consider the Large Floof.
Is UnHide Worth It?
For me, yes. My original blanket has been used almost every day for roughly five years and washed about every two weeks. It is still as soft as the day I got it.
I have since purchased two Large Marshmallows, a Cuddle Puddle, six Squish pillows across all three styles, and three Floof beds in two sizes. That repeat purchasing history and long-term daily use are the strongest endorsements I can give.
