Sometimes you need a day that feels like a complete reset. Not just a quick lunch with friends or a rushed pedicure squeezed into a busy schedule. I’m talking about a full-body, deep-exhale kind of day. The kind where your muscles relax, your mind quiets down, and somehow even your sleep improves afterward.
That’s exactly what happened during my recent visit to WorldSprings in The Colony, Texas.
If you are looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating spa day near Dallas-Fort Worth, this place absolutely deserves a spot on your list.
My First Visit to WorldSprings
My first experience at WorldSprings was last year during one of their shorter 3-hour soak visits. It was a chilly day, but the warm mineral pools made it feel incredibly cozy. I went with two girlfriends, and we spent our time exploring different pools, trying the cold plunge, and eventually winding down in the Dead Sea pool.
At the time, we all agreed three hours felt like plenty.
Turns out…we were very wrong.
Round Two: Doing WorldSprings the Right Way
Last month, my group of girlfriends was trying to plan a get together when someone suggested WorldSprings. Once the idea was out there, the plan escalated quickly in the best possible way.
A few of us decided to add massages before our soak time. One thing I didn’t realize during my first visit is that booking a spa treatment automatically includes access to the pools for the day. Since soak admission alone was nearly $100 that day, the massage package felt like a fantastic value.
Then someone suggested adding a cabana.
When we split the cost six ways and realized it came out to around $40 each, it became an immediate yes.
And honestly? The cabana completely elevated the entire experience.
Starting the Day with a Swedish Massage
I booked a 10:00 AM Swedish massage and arrived about 15 minutes early. One of my friends already had her robe on in the spa waiting area, so we had a quick catch up before my massage therapist, Andre, came to get me.
Before we started, he asked about pressure preferences and any problem areas. I explained that I needed medium pressure because anything too intense leaves me sore for days afterward.
He absolutely nailed it.
The massage was exactly what I wanted: relaxing, soothing, and the perfect pressure from start to finish. I nearly fell asleep during the session, which honestly is probably the highest compliment I can give a massage therapist.
The 50 minutes flew by.
Afterward, I was handed a robe included with my spa treatment. I skipped the robe during my first visit and regretted it because the weather was cold. This time it was sunny and warm, so I didn’t use it much during the day, but it was wonderful after my shower before heading home.
Why the Cabana Was Worth Every Penny
Our cabana was located in the Asiatic region directly across from one of the pools, and it ended up being the perfect home base for the day.
It included:
- Two large couches
- A coffee table
- Storage space for personal items
- Curtains for shade and privacy
Even though we spent plenty of time exploring pools together, the cabana gave us a comfortable place to regroup, relax, eat lunch, and just enjoy being together.
Around 1:00 PM, we headed back there for lunch, and the service throughout the property was incredibly attentive. Our server quickly took everyone’s orders, scanned our wristbands for payment, and before long we were enjoying fresh, healthy lunch options while lounging in our shaded cabana.

By the end of the day, we were back there again drying off, talking, and soaking in those last few relaxing moments before heading home.
Exploring the Mineral Pools
One of the things I love most about WorldSprings is the variety of pools and temperatures.
During this visit, we explored five or six different pools ranging from the icy cold plunge at 55 degrees all the way up to the Korea pool sitting at a toasty 102 degrees near our cabana.

One surprise this trip was the Dead Sea pools. During my first visit, they were much cooler, but this time they were sitting around 101 and 103 degrees. We did enjoy the 101-degree pool for a while, but once the afternoon sun heated up the day, it became a little too warm for me.
My personal favorite ended up being one of the Bali pools at 93 degrees. Warm enough to feel relaxing without overheating in the Texas sunshine.
And yes… I still did the cold plunge.
The Little Details That Make a Difference
It’s the thoughtful amenities that really make the experience feel luxurious.
After several hours in the pools, I headed to the locker rooms for a quick shower before driving home to Walt and Lilly. The showers are stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, and they even have swimsuit dryers and hair dryers available.
Those small touches make the entire day feel seamless and easy.
The Most Relaxed I’ve Felt in Months
Somewhere around 3:00 PM, I realized I should probably head home. Before leaving that morning, I had told my dog walkers I would only be gone a few hours because I remembered my first visit feeling fairly quick.
Instead, the day completely flew by.
When I got home, I felt calmer than I had in weeks. I spent the rest of the evening relaxing at home, and my Oura Ring gave me my highest sleep score in months that night.
I genuinely think the combination of the massage, mineral pools, sunshine, and quality time with friends did wonders for both my body and my stress levels.
Sometimes relaxation really is productive.
Is WorldSprings Worth It?
Absolutely.
If you live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and have been debating whether WorldSprings is worth the drive or the cost, my answer is yes, especially if you turn it into a full-day experience with friends.
I always think of The Colony as being “so far,” but in reality it only took me about 30 minutes to get there.
For next-level relaxation, that drive is completely worth it.
I may need to turn this into a quarterly tradition.
