Why R&B Dog Bakery Is Our Favorite Dog Bakery in DFW (And Where Walt and Lilly Celebrate Their Birthdays)

If you’ve been around here for long, you know two things about our family: Walt and Lilly are wildly loved, and I’m always on the lookout for places that make life sweeter for them.

That’s exactly why R&B Dog Bakery has become one of our favorite spots in North Texas.

This weekend we made a special trip to pick up Walt and Lilly’s custom birthday cake, and somehow R&B managed to exceed expectations again.

Their birthday cake was almost too cute to cut into. Peanut butter and cream cheese flavored, topped with bright red and purple frosting, and finished with the sweetest little personalized bone, it was everything a dog birthday cake should be: thoughtful, festive, and made with pups in mind.

Of course, no visit is ever just one purchase.

We restocked two household favorites: Turkey Pup Pie and Dental Bones. If your dog loves a bakery treat that feels extra special, both are worth grabbing. Around here, they disappear fast.

And then there was Walt.

In classic Walt fashion, he made himself right at home at the chew bar and helped himself to several chews before I could intervene. Not even slightly sorry about it, either. The best part was owner Aisha’s reaction. She simply laughed and then made sure Lilly got one too, because she understands sibling fairness is serious business.

That moment perfectly captures what makes R&B different.

Yes, the treats are incredible. Yes, the custom cakes are beautiful. But what keeps us coming back is how genuinely welcoming and kind Aisha is. It feels less like shopping and more like visiting some who is just as obsessed with your dogs as you are.

We also snapped a special Mother’s Day photo during our visit, and it became one of those little life moments I know I’ll always remember.

Those are the memories places like R&B help create.
