Why R&B Dog Bakery Is Our Favorite Dog Bakery in DFW (And Where Walt and Lilly Celebrate Their Birthdays)

R&B Dog Bakery has been part of Walt and Lilly's lives since before it had a storefront. We first bought Aisha's treats at the Arlington Farmers Market and Viridian events. Now we visit the shop at Geyer Commons every few months to stock up—and we are currently overdue for another trip.

What keeps us returning is a combination of treats Walt and Lilly genuinely love, easy custom-cake ordering and the way Aisha welcomes them like family. For their birthday, I ordered a personalized peanut butter and cream cheese cake online about two weeks ahead, selected the flavors and colors, and picked it up the day before their celebration.

Our Favorite R&B Dog Bakery Treats

Walt and Lilly both agree on the household favorite: the Turkey Pup-Pie. We also regularly buy Dental Bones and browse the chew bar. Large treat bags were about $8 and smaller bags were about $4 during our visit, making it easy to try something new or restock a favorite without turning every stop into a special occasion.

In classic Walt fashion, he once made himself right at home at the chew bar and helped himself to several chews before I could intervene. He was not even slightly sorry. Aisha simply laughed and then made sure Lilly got one too, because she understands that sibling fairness is serious business.

Ordering Walt and Lilly's Custom Birthday Cake

I ordered the cake through the R&B Dog Bakery website and picked it up in person. The process was extremely easy: I selected the flavors and frosting colors online, ordered approximately two weeks in advance and scheduled pickup for the day before Walt and Lilly's birthday.

The custom cake cost $20. Ours was peanut butter and cream cheese flavored, topped with bright red and purple frosting and finished with a personalized bone. It looked festive and thoughtful while still being made specifically for dogs. If you need a cake for a particular date, I recommend ordering ahead rather than expecting a custom cake as a walk-in purchase.

What Visiting the Geyer Commons Store Is Like

The storefront is one of the biggest advantages for local customers. You can walk in for everyday treats without preordering, browse the available selection and bring your dog inside. There has been plenty of parking whenever we have visited. Walt and Lilly are absolutely welcome—honestly, I think Aisha would be upset if we arrived without “her babies.”

That warmth is what makes R&B different. The beautiful cakes and treats get us through the door, but Aisha's genuine kindness keeps us coming back. Shopping feels less like a transaction and more like visiting someone who is just as excited to see our dogs as we are.

We also took a Mother's Day photo during one visit, and it became one of those small life moments I know I will always remember.

Practical Tips for Your Visit

  • Custom cakes: Order online in advance. About two weeks worked well for us.
  • Pickup: We picked up the cake the day before the birthday.
  • Everyday treats: Walk-ins are welcome and are the best reason to visit the storefront.
  • Dogs: Bring them inside; this is a genuinely dog-welcoming shop.
  • Parking: Geyer Commons has plenty of parking.
  • Our first recommendation: Try the Turkey Pup-Pie—both Walt and Lilly love it.
