My Garden Party Obsession Continues: 3 New Rifle Paper Co Finds I Couldn't Resist

I did it again.

Despite already owning more Garden Party items than any reasonable person probably needs, I placed another Rifle Paper Co order. And honestly? I have zero regrets.

The Garden Party collection has become one of my favorite patterns of all time. The colorful florals somehow manage to feel cheerful, elegant, and timeless all at once. Every time Rifle Paper Co releases something new in Garden Party, I find myself asking the same question:

"Do I need this?"

The answer is usually no.

The item somehow ends up in my cart anyway.

My latest order included three very different additions to my collection, and each one immediately made me smile.

Garden Party Travel Blanket

The star of this order may be the Garden Party fleece travel blanket. $50 from Rifle Paper Co website.

As someone who is almost always cold on airplanes, I love traveling with an extra blanket whenever I can. Long flights, overnight flights, and cruise travel days are all much more comfortable when I have something cozy to wrap up in.

What makes this blanket especially travel-friendly is its clever design. It folds into itself, creating a compact pillow-like package. Even better, it has a sleeve on the back that slides directly over a suitcase handle.

That means I can carry it through the airport without sacrificing valuable space inside my carry-on.

For someone who prefers carry-on-only travel whenever possible, that feature alone makes this blanket a winner.

The fleece is soft, warm, and perfect for chilly airplane cabins. I also appreciate having a little extra weight when I'm trying to sleep while in a hotel or cruise cabin, and this blanket provides just enough comfort without being bulky.

I have a feeling this one will be joining me on future Disney cruises and long-haul flights.

Garden Party Baseball Hat

Next up was the Garden Party baseball hat. $38 on Amazon.

Now, let's be honest. I did not need another baseball hat.

I already own plenty, most of which feature the logo of my rather famous employer.

But this floral version was simply too cute to pass up.

One of the things I love about it is how versatile it feels. It could easily become:

  • A vacation hat

  • A pool day hat

  • A dog walking hat

  • A cruise excursion hat

At the moment, I'm not entirely sure which role it will fill. What I do know is that every time I see it hanging by the door, it makes me happy.

Sometimes that's reason enough.

Ladies Night Book Club Mug

Finally, I added another coffee mug to my collection.

Because apparently I have reached the stage of adulthood where mugs multiply when nobody is looking.

The Ladies Night Book Club mug immediately caught my attention. As a lifelong reader, I loved the design featuring classic literary titles paired with a fun color palette. $24 from Rifle Paper Co website. Or you can find a slightly less feminine alternative on Amazon.

There is something about a beautiful mug that makes morning coffee, afternoon tea, or a cozy reading session feel just a little more special.

Could I survive without another mug?

Absolutely.

Am I glad I bought this one?

Also absolutely.

The Verdict

At this point, I think it's safe to say my Garden Party obsession isn't going anywhere.

Between bedding, tech accessories, office supplies, travel accessories, and now this latest haul, the collection continues to find new ways into my home.

And honestly, I'm okay with that.

Life is full of practical purchases. Sometimes it's fun to buy something simply because it makes you smile.

These three additions definitely accomplished that.

Now I'm curious: if you had to pick just one, which would you choose? The travel blanket, the baseball hat, or the book club mug?

Blanks in American Mahjong: The House Rule That Completely Changed My Game

If you’ve spent any time in the online American Mahjong world lately, you’ve probably seen one surprisingly heated debate pop up again and again: Blanks or no blanks? Who knew six little tiles could spark such strong opinions? When Mahjong first started taking over my social feeds, I kept seeing players passionately debate whether blanks should be used in play. Some people swear by them. Others act like they should never touch the table. Naturally, I needed to understand what all the fuss was about. First things first… What is a blank tile in American Mahjong? Most American Mahjong sets come with six blank tiles . Their official purpose is simple: they're backup tiles. Examples of Blanks paired with Jokers for reference. Set on the left is my My Fair Mahjong Confetti Purple . Set on the right is my Amazon set from My Mahjong Trove .  They happen to be resting on my Paper Rifle Co Garden Party Mousepad (I told you I was obsessed!) Lose a tile? No problem. I Tried the Sourdough Bulk Fermentation Float Test, and It Actually Worked

Bulk fermentation is still the part of sourdough that can humble me. I can feed a starter. I can stretch and fold. I can shape a loaf. I can bake a loaf that makes my kitchen smell amazing. But knowing exactly when bulk fermentation is done? That is where things can get tricky. My last few loaves had definitely overproofed on the counter. Not dramatically enough to be a total disaster, but enough that I could tell I had missed the sweet spot. The dough was a little too relaxed. The final shape was a little harder to manage. The oven spring was not what I wanted. So when I kept seeing a new bulk fermentation trick online, I was curious. The idea was simple: when your dough is ready for bulk fermentation, pinch off a small piece of dough and drop it into a room-temperature glass of water. Keep the glass next to your main bowl of dough on the counter. When the little piece of dough floats, bulk fermentation is done. It sounded almost too easy. So of course I had to try it. The Sourdough B...
