My Favorite Kindle Accessories: 8 Christmas Gift Ideas for Book Lovers

If there's one thing I've learned after owning five Kindles, it's that buying the Kindle is only the beginning. Sure, you can start reading straight out of the box. But where's the fun in stopping there?

I've already shared why I love my Kindle so much. With 555 consecutive days of reading, 195 consecutive weeks, and 46 books finished so far in 2026, it's safe to say I spend plenty of quality time with mine.

Along the way, I've found some accessories that make reading even better. Some are practical, some are just plain fun, and a few allow me to reach impressive new levels of laziness while enjoying a good book.

With Christmas right around the corner, here are eight of my favorite gift ideas for the Kindle lover in your life!

1. A Clear Kindle Case: Because Even My Kindle Needs Accessories

One of my favorite ways to personalize my Kindle is with a clear case. I can tuck cute stickers underneath without actually sticking anything to the device.

When I'm ready for a different look, I can swap out my stickers. The case also works with my removable magnetic PopSocket setup, making it easy to change my grip.

Gift idea: Pair a clear case with some bookish stickers and a magnetic PopSocket!

2. A Kick-Out PopSocket: Cute AND Functional

A good grip makes it easier to hold my Kindle, especially during longer reading sessions.

But this accessory has another trick! The kick-out design lets me prop up my Kindle without needing a separate stand.

Sometimes I want to hold my Kindle. Sometimes I want to put it down and keep reading. This gives me both options!

Gift idea: An easy little stocking stuffer for a Kindle lover.

3. Kindle Cases: Sometimes a Girl Needs Options

I love my clear case, but I'm also a fan of folio-style cases that cover the screen.

They're especially practical for travel, when my Kindle is going in a bag for a flight, cruise, or vacation.

One important tip: Check the exact Kindle model before buying a case as a gift!

4. A Kindle Pillow Stand: For Cozy Reading Sessions

Sometimes I just want to curl up, get comfortable, and read without holding my Kindle.

That's why I love my Kindle pillow stand. It has a spot to hold my Kindle and even a bowl!

It's perfect for a lazy Sunday reading session when I have absolutely no intention of being productive.

5. The Kindle Clicker: Ultimate Lazy Reader Luxury

Picture this. You're tucked into bed, perfectly comfortable, Kindle positioned just right, and then you have to move your arm to turn the page.

Unacceptable!

That's where the Kindle clicker comes in.

A compatible page-turning remote allows me to keep reading without constantly reaching for my Kindle. Combine it with a stand and you've got a wonderful setup for hands-free reading.

Necessary? Absolutely not.

Delightful? Absolutely!

Gift idea: Pair it with a stand for the ultimate bedtime-reading setup.

6. An Adjustable Floor Stand: Not Just for Reading

My adjustable floor stand is another favorite for hands-free reading in bed.

It's especially useful with the Kindle clicker, but I also love that I can use it for something completely different.

It can hold my iPad when I'm creating content for Curated by Shelley!

An accessory that supports both my reading habit and my content creation? That's my kind of multitasking.

Gift idea: Great for readers, tablet users, and content creators.

7. A Wireless Charging Dock: One Less Cable to Deal With

I read every single day, but that doesn't mean I want to spend my time remembering to charge another device.

My Kindle wireless charging dock makes it easy to set down my compatible Kindle and give the battery a boost.

No need to fiddle with charging cables every time.

8. A Kindle+ Gift Subscription: Give Them More Books!

Okay, this might be one of my favorite Christmas gift ideas because it doesn't require another gadget!

If you're shopping for someone who already owns a Kindle, why not give them more books to read?

I've been a Kindle+ subscriber for years, going back to when the service was called Kindle Unlimited. It's one of my favorite ways to keep my reading habit going without purchasing every single book individually.

Kindle+ gives subscribers access to a rotating catalog of eligible ebooks and other reading materials, including select audiobooks.

And here's the best part: You can give Kindle+ as a gift!

Amazon offers several prepaid gift subscription options:

  • 6 months: $65.95
  • 12 months: $131.89
  • 24 months: $263.78

That's approximately $10.99 per month at the prices I checked on October 31, 2026. Pricing may change.

Give a Kindle+ Subscription

For someone who reads as much as I do, having access to a large selection of books is such a treat.

And unlike a case or charging dock, you don't need to know which Kindle model they own. Kindle+ can also be used through the Kindle app on compatible phones and tablets.

Gift idea: Pair a Kindle+ subscription with a cute accessory, or give the subscription all by itself!

My Favorite Kindle Christmas Gift Bundles

The Ultimate Lazy Reader: An adjustable floor stand, Kindle clicker, and cozy blanket.

The Kindle Fashionista: A clear case, magnetic PopSocket, and fun stickers.

The Lazy Sunday Reader: A Kindle pillow stand, some favorite treats, and a delicious cup of tea.

The Practical Reader: A wireless charging dock and protective folio case, selected for the recipient's Kindle model.

The Reader Who Already Has Everything: A 6-, 12-, or 24-month Kindle+ gift subscription!

What If They Don't Have a Kindle Yet?

Then perhaps it's time to introduce them to one of my favorite things!

I'm currently using my fifth Kindle, the Kindle Colorsoft, and I especially love having my books with me for cruises, vacations, and pool days.

Two options worth exploring:

And be sure to check out my companion article about why I love my Kindle so much!

Happy Reading and Happy Gifting!

Whether you're shopping for a Kindle enthusiast or building your own Christmas wish list, I hope these ideas help you find something fun.

After all, anything that makes it easier to spend more time reading is a win in my book!

My Mahjong Starter Haul: The Prettiest Tiles, Mats, and Accessories Worth the Splurge

Over the last few months my social feeds have been filled with gorgeous Mahjong setups — colorful tiles, acrylic racks, chic mats, and stylish bags. And if you’ve recently started learning American Mahjong like I have, you know how quickly the accessories start calling your name. So yes… I have a confession to make. I may have spent a little money on Mahjong supplies lately. But honestly? Every piece is so pretty and so much fun to play with that I have zero regrets. And as a beginner, I’m discovering what I actually like while building a setup that makes me excited to sit down and practice. Here’s a peek at the Mahjong goodies I’ve picked up so far — including a few that are quickly becoming favorites. My First Mahjong Set (Amazon Find) Like many beginners, I started by looking for a more affordable Mahjong set before diving into the boutique options filling my Instagram feed. After some searching, I landed on this 160 piece pink engraved American Mahjong Game Set with Carrying...

Blanks in American Mahjong: The House Rule That Completely Changed My Game

If you’ve spent any time in the online American Mahjong world lately, you’ve probably seen one surprisingly heated debate pop up again and again: Blanks or no blanks? Who knew six little tiles could spark such strong opinions? When Mahjong first started taking over my social feeds, I kept seeing players passionately debate whether blanks should be used in play. Some people swear by them. Others act like they should never touch the table. Naturally, I needed to understand what all the fuss was about. First things first… What is a blank tile in American Mahjong? Most American Mahjong sets come with six blank tiles . Their official purpose is simple: they're backup tiles. Examples of Blanks paired with Jokers for reference. Set on the left is my My Fair Mahjong Confetti Purple . Set on the right is my Amazon set from My Mahjong Trove .  They happen to be resting on my Paper Rifle Co Garden Party Mousepad (I told you I was obsessed!) Lose a tile? No problem. I Tried the Sourdough Bulk Fermentation Float Test, and It Actually Worked

Bulk fermentation is still the part of sourdough that can humble me. I can feed a starter. I can stretch and fold. I can shape a loaf. I can bake a loaf that makes my kitchen smell amazing. But knowing exactly when bulk fermentation is done? That is where things can get tricky. My last few loaves had definitely overproofed on the counter. Not dramatically enough to be a total disaster, but enough that I could tell I had missed the sweet spot. The dough was a little too relaxed. The final shape was a little harder to manage. The oven spring was not what I wanted. So when I kept seeing a new bulk fermentation trick online, I was curious. The idea was simple: when your dough is ready for bulk fermentation, pinch off a small piece of dough and drop it into a room-temperature glass of water. Keep the glass next to your main bowl of dough on the counter. When the little piece of dough floats, bulk fermentation is done. It sounded almost too easy. So of course I had to try it. The Sourdough B...
